Weddings & Events
Hemlock Inn is a perfect getaway meeting spot for weddings, retreats, conferences, and larger group gatherings. Family reunions are one of our most popular event bookings! It’s not required to book all the rooms in order to host an event at the inn.
The Inn can comfortably host small events indoors (about 60-70 guests). Larger events can be hosted outdoors (up to 250 guests) but guests would need to stay at other local lodging or drive in from neighboring towns as Hemlock Inn can only accommodate about 65 overnight guests.
We do not recommend a tent as it blocks the view, so outdoor weddings may want to consider a rain backup (either one of the local churches for a larger wedding or our onsite historic chapel for smaller weddings.)
Our event space rentals require a $1,000 non-refundable deposit. Meals are included.
The Inn does not have any event rentals or décor available, so weddings and events may need to rent their own chairs, linens, etc. from a third-party vendor. We do not offer event coordination, so we recommend hiring your own wedding or event planner if needed.
Events can be hosted at Hemlock Inn without booking accommodations, but wedding groups are required to book a full property buyout. Please contact us for more information about planning your event.
Hemlock Inn’s team does all the meals and catering, so no outside caterers are permitted. We do not have a liquor license, so events serving alcohol would require an outside vendor.
Please inquire with our events team if you need additional vendors so we can work with you to bring your event to life.

The Smoky Mountain region has four distinct seasons, and each season is special. Different activities and experiences are available for whichever season best suits you!
Our warm, humid summers (June-August) have average temperatures in the 80s during the day and in the 60s at night as afternoon thunderstorms and mountain elevations cool down the evenings.
The transitional seasons of spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are typically mild, with highs ranging from the mid-50s to the upper 70s during the day, and lows ranging from mid-30s to mid-50s in the evenings and early mornings. Spring tends to bring occasional afternoon showers while the fall tends to be more clear and dry.
Winter (December-February) is cold with occasional light snow, although we do get some mild, sunny days. Temperatures range from the high 20s to low 50s.
Hemlock Inn is a wonderful place to visit any time of year, but we typically see more families visiting in winter & summer (aligning with school breaks) and more couples visiting in spring & fall. Our location in the premier mountain destination of Bryson City, North Carolina means that each season offers unique activities and adventures for our guests.
Summer is the best time for water activities like whitewater rafting, river tubing, boating, and kayaking. Fall brings gorgeous autumn foliage to the Smoky Mountains, making it perfect for scenic drives, train rides, and hiking. Winter at Hemlock Inn is a magical time for families who want to experience cozy dining experiences, crisp hikes, and the famous Polar Express holiday train ride. Spring in Bryson City brings the landscape back to life with scenic waterfalls and beautiful wildflowers, making it a great time to hike and explore before the crowds come for summer.
